The three journalists were denied entry after Israeli forces checked their identity cards, claiming they were on a blacklist of women barred from entry under the pretext of "causing trouble."
Israel prevented their entry to stop them documenting violations at the mosque compound, the journalists said.
Meanwhile, 24 Israeli right-wingers entered the compound under armed guard, with Palestinian worshipers chanting "Allah Akbar" (God is Great) at the group.
Last week, Israeli authorities distributed a blacklist banning 40 Palestinian women from entering the al-Aqsa Mosque.
Israeli police and courts compiled the list of women last month, with the women banned from entering the al-Aqsa Mosque for periods between 10 and 60 days.
The mosque compound is the third holiest site in Islam, and is also venerated as Judaism's most holy place, as it sits where Jews believe the First and Second Temples once stood.
